Our Beloved Founder

Late Mr. JOHN KESARI started the school in the year 1971 with the vision of imparting God-fearing, value-based education to the people who stay in and around Velachery. A noble-hearted educationist, who was humble and God-fearing with a strong aspiration to educate the under-privileged began the institution, which today stands as one of the reputed schools in Velachery. Our founder not only imparted education but also was keen on seeing the children of Bethel emerge as disciplined students spreading fragrance wherever they go. We always carry his vision in our hearts and with the blessings of God march forward to fulfill it.

Our beloved founder, the late Mr. John Kesari, was a pious man who lived his life through the principle “Spin carefully, spin prayerfully and leave the thread with God".

He was an exceptional correspondent, teacher, counsellor, a humanist, a God-fearing and humble gentleman. He was known for his simplicity, honesty, kindness and strong desire to produce a tangible change in the society.

A vision from God led him to dedicate his life for the cause of education. He wanted each brick to express the might of the Almighty, that he named his two institutions as ‘BETHEL’ which means ‘The House of God’ and ‘PENIEL’ that expresses ‘Seeing God Face to Face’.

Our beloved founder gave importance not only to education, but also emphasized on cultivating good moral values and instilling discipline and self-control in children. He stood unique because he practised what he preached. His humble life has inspired many. His life has transformed many hearts and souls. He never turned back from his goal, vision and mission. He had the zeal for the upliftment of the children from the grassroot level. His thirst to educate children inspired innumerable young minds.

Our founder remains as a guiding light, encouraging us to provide holistic education to all those who choose to start their journey in Bethel.
